About Littletone
Stories worth pressing play on.
Littletone is a children's audiobook store built around one promise to parents: you should be able to press play on anything here without listening to it first.
Every title is read and chosen one at a time, by people rather than an algorithm, and anything that would not belong in a child's ears simply does not go in. That means a great many well-known children's classics are not here, because a story can be famous and still be cruel, frightening, or carry the prejudices of its century. We would rather have a smaller shelf you can trust completely.
The library is sorted by age first, because that is the real question when you are standing in the kitchen at bedtime: is this right for my six-year-old. Little Listeners is roughly three to six, Story Explorers seven to ten, and Big Readers eleven and up. The ages are a guide, not a rule, and you know your child better than we do.
The account belongs to you, the parent. There are no child profiles, no birthdays to enter, and nothing here asks a child for a single piece of information about themselves.
Three ways to listen.
Start free. Three classic audiobooks are yours to keep with a free account, no card required.
Own it forever. Buy any audiobook and it stays in your library for good, with offline downloads, no clock and no fine print.
Or stream everything with Littletone Plus, our monthly membership that opens the entire catalog, including every classic, for USD 9.99 per month. Books you purchase always remain yours, whether your membership is active or not.
Who we are.
Littletone is operated by A Better You Everyday Publications, an independent publishing house based in Laval, Canada. We make books and audiobooks for families around the world, and we curate this catalogue to stay positive, gentle and welcoming to every child who opens it.
An honest note on our recordings, and on price.
We narrate at a scale a small independent house can only reach by accepting a little humanity in the result. Now and then you may notice a small imperfection: a word read a touch too quickly, or a sentence where the narrator's tone shifts briefly because we repaired it after the original take. We choose, deliberately, to spend our time bringing you more titles rather than re-recording a book that is already almost right. That trade is what keeps this membership among the least expensive in audiobooks, and we would rather tell you plainly than pretend to be flawless.
A word on the price itself. Streaming and storing thousands of hours of audio costs real money every month: servers, storage, bandwidth, and the people who keep it all running. As the library grows, the subscription price for new members will rise from time to time. Your own price is locked for as long as your subscription stays active: keep it, and the price you joined at is the price you keep.
A note on our classics.
Let us be very clear, because we believe you deserve plain words. Many of our titles are classic books whose copyright has expired, and some of those recordings can be found free online if you go looking. We would rather say so than have you discover it. What we add is the choosing, the screening, the cleanup, and a calm place to listen where everything has already been checked for your child.
So what are you paying for? The experience that makes listening effortless. A player on your phone or tablet that always remembers where you paused, lets you speed up or slow down any narration, and downloads books for offline. One library that holds everything you own. And behind it, the streaming, the bandwidth, the servers that carry hundreds of hours of audio, the curation and cover art, and real people at support. That is the whole deal, simply said.
